Community Meal | Tuesday, March 5th

Faithbridge will be serving Community meals on Tuesday, March 5th. If you would like to volunteer to pack meals we ask that you arrive at North Pointe Methodist church 3825 Erie St. by 3:30.

Items needed: 4 servers, 15 casseroles (9x 13 size), 14 large loaves of soft white bread, and 3 lbs. of butter.

  • Prayer Team Leader

    • We have people who send out the prayer chain. I am looking for a person who would gather a team of people for the purpose of regular prayer meetings to intercede for needs in the church and community. This would offer some community for people who are praying, as well as some accountability to keep people in a regular pattern of prayer.
    • This person would need a passion for prayer, and a desire to help others in developing regular prayer habits.

    Intercessory Prayer Warriors
    • Prayer is one of the most important things in our church.  We need people who will follow the prayer wall and prayer chain of the church. 
    • This would be taking time most every day to pray for hurting people.  The lists would be gathered from the prayer wall on the website and the church's prayer chain.
    • This person would have a concern for people and a belief in the power of prayer.

    Meal Train Volunteer

    • This would be a person willing to make or buy meals for people who are ill or recovering from a surgery.  They would then deliver the meal to the person.  At times some people might have dietary restrictions, (such as  low salt, gluten free, etc) 
    • This person would care for people in the church, whether they already know them or not.

    Visiting Helper

    • This would be a person willing to help homebound or ill people with light tasks like housekeeping, getting groceries, or more.  This person would need their own transportation.
    • This person would need care for people and have a servant's heart. They would also need the wisdom and strength to say 'no' if asked to do something that is not safe or appropriate.

    Visitation Volunteer
    • This is a person who would visit homebound people in order to keep them connected to the church.  You would need transportation, a friendly smile, and some self motivation.  You can expect a lot of joy and warmth in return.
    • This volunteer has a passion to help people who feel isolated or alone.  One of the biggest spiritual needs of many of our homebound people is for community.

    Card Ministry Volunteer

    • We have two card ministries that make beautiful cards and send them to people who are experiencing pastoral care issues, (i.e. loss, illness, surgery, being homebound, birth of a child...)  This position would mean working under one of our two coordinators to create the cards. 
    • This volunteer has the ability to create works of beauty using stamps, cut outs, drawing, or other artistic medias.

    Flower Ministry Coordinator

    • This person coordinates both Flower Arrangers and Flower Deliverers.  They monitor what weeks flowers are being donated, then have people in place to complete the ministry. 
    • This volunteer has a  passion for faithfulness.

    Flower Arranger
    • This person would take altar flowers (when available) and arrange them into bouquets for delivery to people who are injured, ill, or homebound.

    Flower Deliverer
    • A tradition at our church is to take altar flowers to people of the church who are sick, injured, or homebound.  The flower deliverer takes the flowers after arrangement by a designated flower arranger.  They bring them to people's home, hospital room, or skilled nursing facility room.  This is done on either Sunday afternoon or Monday morning (depending on when the arranger completes them and your own schedule).
    • This volunteer has flexibility, and a desire to help people feel connected to the church.

  • SUNDAY Coffee bar/Barista

    • Grind coffee beans, fill thermoses, clean equipment, monitor consumption.

    Usher
    • Greet people as they enter the sanctuary

    SUNDAY Parking Lot Greeter

    • On Sundays at the most critical time overlapping between first and second service from 10:00 to 10:30 am, be a parking lot greeter. In so doing, you 1) provide order and safety in the parking lot making sure people observe the one-way traffic flow and 2) assuring safety particularly of seniors and children at the crosswalk 3) You are the first warm greeting people receive before even entering the church facility.
    • This volunteer cares deeply about people and "the little things" that favorably affect their Sunday morning experience. Values timeliness and dependability in ministry task. Appreciates or enjoys the outdoors in all kinds of weather. Values providing a positive demeanor and warm greeting as a means to bless others.

  • Security Team

    • Faithbridge is a safe place to wrestle with God, but we also want it to be a safe place overall! For over a year, your Trustees have been looking at procedures and practices to eliminate threats and safety concerns while at church. All of our entrances now have cameras and a capacity to monitor them and doors to our Youth & Children's Center and associated children's areas can be locked along with panic buttons that can activate immediate closure. Our Ushers are already trained in safety alertness. But we're vigorously stepping up our safety protocols. 
    • We need volunteers every Sunday to monitor our split screen video, to do safety checks, and greet people at the door.

  • SUNDAY Nursery Teacher

    • Work with other Kid Life staff to prepare lessons, activities, and games that capture the attention of babies and toddlers. Be ready and willing to get messy and loud as we plant the seed that Jesus loves them.

    Paid Nursery Staff
    • Paid nursery staff provide dependable, safe, secure, and nurturing care to the children who attend Faithbridge (ages 0-4). They help supervise activities like crafts, Bible lessons, and games, help children feel comfortable and parents feel comfortable and welcome as they drop their young children off with us, and maintain a clean and safe nursery environment while ensuring that the children's needs are cared for.
    • Rotations are usually one month on and two months off, but we can be somewhat flexible.

      WEDNESDAY Critterland Teacher

    • Prepare the hearts and minds of toddlers and preschoolers to receive Jesus Christ as their Savior. Work with other Kid Life staff to prepare lessons, activities, and games. Be ready and willing to get messy and loud as we show that Jesus loves them. Wednesdays are high energy. Volunteers must be ok with very active young kids.
    • Volunteers must be passionate about children and have a passion for Jesus Christ. Our volunteers have opportunities to grow their faith as they plant seeds in the future generations.

    SHINE Leader

    • Work with other Kid Life staff to put on a Christmas musical production. Work with kids on acting and singing.

  • SUNDAY Morning Adult Leader

    • SUNDAY Morning Adult Leaders are those who desire to connect with students on SUNDAY mornings to lead their 9:00 am small group time. These leaders exist to guide students in their discipleship by facilitating conversations about their faith development.
    • Have a passion for leading small group discussions and discipling middle and high school students

    • WEDNESDAY Night Adult Leaders should be people who desire to see middle school and high school students become fully devoted followers of Jesus. This includes attending Student Life on WEDNESDAY nights, a willingness to mentor and disciple students if they ask that of you, and an openness to attending Student Life events, such as retreats and mission trips.
    • We desire adult leaders for Student Life who are capable of discussing with maturity, approachability, authenticity, and compassion their Christian faith and its impact on other significant aspects of their lives.

    • Helping the Student Life worship team with their sound mixing, making sure the microphones, sound system, and slides are all functioning properly for Student Life on WEDNESDAY Night.

    Student Life Prayer Team

    • While not yet an existing role, it would be hugely beneficial to Student Life for there to be people within the congregation who are committed to praying for the ministry of Student Life on a regular basis. With the upcoming building expansion, the growth of the Wednesday night ministry, the Sunday morning small groups, the upcoming mission trip, and the desire for Student Life to be a ministry that leans into the joys and struggles of evangelism and discipleship, we are convinced that the wisest way to pursue those goals is through a prayerful dependence on the Holy Spirit.
    • Being part of this prayer team would simply require a willingness to read updates from Student Life and to spend extended time praying weekly for the ministry. 
    • Have a passion for praying for the faith development of students, praying for the advancement of the Gospel, and seeking the leadership, provision, and guidance of the Lord.

  • Gathering Space Clean-up & Primping

    • Wednesday night is a VERY busy night at our church - literally, every room is used and it is wonderful. And there are messes made ... some of which need to be cleaned up. The main space of the Gathering Area must be cleaned up before Seniors Bible Study: trash emptied, tables cleaned, sweeping of the floor in a few places (if needed). Takes about 1 hour.
    • Must be completed 7:00- 8:00 am ish on THURSDAY morning
    • This volunteer has a passion for hospitality and cleanliness in particular ... creates good mood for participants and is ministry!

    Hospitality Coordinator or Worker for Thursday Seniors Bible Study

    • Make coffee (3 carafes of regular, 2 carafes of decaf, and 1 carafe of hot water for tea) THURSDAY between 7:45 am until 9:00 am when Seniors begin to arrive. Make sure the coffee cups and lids, the creamers, sweeteners and other coffee bar condiments are available. Also, put out the pastry, cookies or Kringle that Pastor Dave obtains or others have provided on the Thursdays it is available.
    • This volunteer models servant leadership.

  • Women's Retreat: Retreat Coordinator

    • Responsible for all aspects of the Women's Retreat from initial planning through debriefing the event. While the Retreat Coordinator oversees all positions, she's directly responsible for contract negotiation, registration, room setup/design, evaluations, and planning team meetings.
    • The volunteer should have a passion for organization and ministry to women.
    • Frequency/Hours required: Yearly/ The time commitment is heavier around the retreat (4 hours/week) but, for the remainder of the year, is minimal.

    Women's Retreat Leadership Team: Speaker/Prayer
    • This person is responsible for securing the speaker or curriculum for the retreat. Additionally, this individual leads the team in prayer and provides a prayer calendar in the weeks leading up to the retreat.
    • The volunteer should be passionate about women learning and growing in their faith. Also, the volunteer should be passionate about prayer.
    • Frequency/Hours required: Yearly/ After securing a speaker, the time commitment is about 1-2 hours/week in the 2 months leading up to the retreat. Otherwise, it's minimal.

    Women's Retreat Leadership Team: Games
    • Responsible for planning all games, ice-breakers, and fellowship times at the retreat.
    • The volunteer should be passionate about fellowship, hospitality, and fun.
    • Frequency/Hours required: Yearly/ The time commitment in the two months leading up to the retreat is significant. Otherwise, it's minimal.

    Women's Retreat Leadership Team: Decor/Crafts
    • This position is responsible for making the retreat "pop"--including table centerpieces, overall theme decoration, room "touches," and any craft activity which may/may not be offered.
    • This person should be very creative and enjoy working with their hands. A passion for women's ministry would be great too.
    • Frequency/Hours required: Yearly/ The time commitment in the two months leading up to the retreat is significant (4+ hours/week). Otherwise, the commitment is minimal.

    Women's Retreat: Worship Leader
    • This position plans the schedule for worship/speaking for the entire weekend. The plan includes songs, musicians, videos, and special times of prayer.
    • The volunteer should be passionate about music, worship, and praising God.
    • Frequency/Hours required: Yearly/ The time commitment in the two months leading up to the retreat is significant. Otherwise, it's minimal.

    Women's Retreat Helps Team

    • Provides assistance to team leaders in areas of worship, games, crafts, and decoration. Helping in one or all of these areas is great!
    • Frequency/Hours required: Yearly/ The time commitment is minimal--approximately 1-2 hours a week in the month leading up to the retreat.

  • Men's Breakfast Cook/Coordinator

    • Help provide an opportunity for men to come together and enjoy fellowship around food. Breakfast is generally the best meal but an innovative lunch may also work. Once a month, preferably at time and day men are likely to show up and participate (Saturday?)
    • This volunteer has a passion for cooking and fellowship.

    Men's Fellowship Events Coordinator (Contributor)
    • In conjunction with and supervision by the pastor ... provide fellowship events (seasonal, active, outdoors, recreational, hobby oriented) for men in the life of the church. Events generally should NOT exceed an hour in length. One time event, a couple each year, or as many as three would be great.
    • This volunteer finds injoyment in seeing men come together in fellowship events whereby Jesus is the common bond but activities can vary widely and expansively.

    Men's Study Teacher
    • In conjunction with and supervision by the pastor ... teach a mid-week or other Men's Ministry Study at another time. All studies (even if topical, book study or devotional in nature) should be biblically based. Small group process involves eliciting discussion, questions and further involvement or study. We also have multi-media resources such as Right Now Media by which to lead a study.
    • This volunteer enjoys connecting people and their everyday issues to the relevance and power of God's word in their lives.

  • Restore

    • Community outreach opportunities to organize and/or volunteer for (eg. Empty Bowls)

  • Finance Committee Member 

    • The Finance Committee looks for individuals to make a three-year commitment to attend monthly 1-2 hour meetings to review the church finances, financial plans, balance sheet and attendance information.  The Finance Committee makes recommendations to the Ministry Board on how funds are handled and used by the church to meet its needs, and to produce useful reports on finances and attendance to allow the Ministry Board to be the best stewards of the resources God has provided to Faithbridge church.

    Counter

    • Each Sunday two counters meet in the administrative office and count the in person giving funds that are put in the safe by the Ushers.   It is our goal to have enough counters that would allow any one counter to choose to provide this help once a month or less with two or three counters working together each week for an hour or two immediately after 2nd service.

    Dessert Derby Collections
    • We need individuals to collect cash and/or use a credit card reader to collect funds at Dessert Derby.

  • Staff Parish Relations Committee

    • The SPRC works to build a strong positive relationship between staff and congregation. The committee encourages, nurtures, and supports the pastor(s) and staff and their families with a focus on issues that affect the congregation’s total ministry, including healthy life-work balance.
    • In consultation with the lead pastor and with awareness of the strategy of the church leadership team, this committee recommends needed staff positions and develops and approves written job descriptions and titles for staff. This committee makes recommendations on compensation, housing, and other staffing financial matters to the finance committee.
    • The SPRC also provides guidance and assistance with hiring, evaluating, promoting, retiring, and, when necessary, the termination of staff members who are not subject to episcopal appointment (procedures must comply with local and state laws).

    • In addition to monthly meetings, SPRC members are expected to attend Annual Charge Conference.

  • Facilities Team

    • Facilities team members help with general upkeep projects around the church, such as painting and small repairs. We currently have a full team, but nominate new team members every couple of years. 
  • Video Streaming Technician

    • The Video Streaming Technician operates video streaming software, controlling cameras to produce our online Sunday morning worship services and other streamed special services/events. A high level of proficiency in using video software is required. A solid understanding of basic video production is also needed.

    Sound Technician
    • The Sound Technician is responsible for mixing audio for either live in-person worship or our live-stream feed for Sunday morning worship services and other special worship services/events. Prior experience working with audio gear and/or electronic musical instruments is required. 
    • Our Sound Technicians work in a weekly rotation. 
    • Two are needed per week for Sunday morning services.

  • Mission Team

    • Supporting Our Missionaries and communicating to keep in touch with other support.
    • Meeting once a month and communication with Missionary.
    • This volunteer has a heart to serve.

  • Trustee Chairman

    • Lead three member Trustee team that provide oversight for the following areas:
      1.  Church contracts with suppliers and vendors.
      2.  Church liability including building safety, safe sanctuary, site security, fire protection and insurance.
      3.  Building use policies and procedures.
    • This volunteer has a passion to organize and lead meetings, negotiate and manage contracts, and develop and update policies. Willingness to dive into the details of how to optimally manage the church facilities and willingness to create, review and update policies when necessary.

    Trustee Team Member
    • Participate in three member Trustee team that provides oversight for the following:

    • This volunteer is detail oriented, and has a willingness to dive into the details of how to optimally manage church facilities and willingness to create, review and update policies/procedures where necessary.

  • Adult Choir

    • The Adult Choir sings at the traditional service and various special services. The Choir is open to all ages with no auditions required. We rehearse weekly on Wednesday nights from 6:15-7:15 p.m. in the sanctuary. We sing on Sunday mornings generally at the Traditional service at 9:00 a.m. 
    • This volunteer has a passion for using your musical talents to lead in worship and bringing people to a closer walk with God.

    Chapel Overflow Team
